Produced in the Buldan district of Denizli, this healthy and durable cotton cloth has existed in Anatolia for centuries. The history of Buldan cloth dates from the 6th millennium BC, according to cloth remnants found in archaeological excavations in Çatalhöyük. As well, Buldan products, preferred by many sultans of the Ottoman empire and used in their daily lives, are exhibited today.
Buldan cloth is notable for its hand-painted designs, using colours obtained from materials such as walnut leaves, liquorice root, laurel, oak, onion peel, and chestnut.
Typically, Buldan cloth is ecru-coloured, with vividly coloured geometric patterns.
In addition, the weaving techniques utilized to create Buldan cloth result in a healthy and durable product composed of 100% cotton fabric, and an anti-sweat and anti-allergic structure.
Buldan cloth is preferred in many areas such as clothing, bedspreads, bedsheets, tablecloths and curtains, offering a texture that keeps it cool in the summer and warm in the winter; thanks to this feature, the cloth is incredibly versatile. Buldan products, exported worldwide from the Buldan district, attract the attention of both domestic and foreign consumers.
